Family Fun at the Newport Aquarium

Hear me out, I’m not crazy. Well a bit but that’s not the point

Where else in Kentucky can you walk over a shark tank?

Nowhere is the answer! The Newport Aquarium located in Newport, Kentucky is the only place in Kentucky and the first in the world to have a suspended rope bridge where you can walk above sharks. The kids (and adults) love it!

A look at the details

Newport Aquarium is actually perfect for anyone. Of course it’s great to take the kids, but even for an activity to do with friends, dates, adult families and more – I mean who doesn’t love animals? You’ll see a wide variety of different sea creatures and others including fish (obviously), sharks, penguins, turtles, snakes, alligators, jellyfish and more! There are also interactive displays so you can touch different creatures including sting rays, sharks and sea urchins. Take a break if your there with the kiddos while they play in the indoor play place or color their own fish. You all get the idea, it’s a great place. Now for the real details:

  2. Another Pro Tip: If you plan to go multiple times in a year, it may be worth it to get an annual membership pass.

Now if you REALLY want to go above and beyond, there is more to make your experience exceptional. Upgrade to additional experiences like the Penguin encounter (yes, play with penguins) or a behind the scenes tour.
